Flemington Granite and Architectural Supply strives to bring the best products and service to our customers while maintaining a safe and clean environment. We have invested in an expensive filtration system from Water Treatment Technologies to help us produce high-end countertops while remaining environmentally conscious. This water filtration system allows us to recycle 100% of our shop water and clean our water to 2 microns or less! The fresh, crystal clear water that is created from this filtration system allows us to cut and polish granite countertops with unmatched shine and smoothness.
Water recycling is reusing treated wastewater for beneficial purposes. All of the water used in our shop is recycled through our advanced filtration system. Water is necessary to cut granite because it acts as a coolant and lubricant. Granite is an extremely hard material and must be cut using diamond tipped blades. Water is used in this process to cool the blade and the material being cut and also to clean out any particles that may form during the cutting process.
Water is used with our bridge saw, polishing tools, and CNC equipment. Clean water is used with all of these pieces of machinery for cutting and polishing granite. The wasted or dirty water falls to the ground and into a drainage system that leads the dirty water to a waste collection pit. Using an air pump, the dirty water is pumped through a high-pressure filtration system until the water is filtered and ready for use. This recycled water is stored in a clean water storage tank until it is pumped back to the machines that require it.
